Friday Thoughts

TGIF! I featured a pair of earrings this morning on our instagram page. They were a birthday present from my sister and I obsessed with them! The line is Lele Sadoughi. I know I will wear these all the time and the best part...they go with everything! I have the yellow but I also love this multi colored pair-so fun!

I found the cutest cards at Target this week. I love the stripes and of course the pineapples!

I have been really slack about making green juice in the morning so I have been stopping by Grabbagreen a lot. Their juices are awesome, but I especially love the Green juice blend. So good. I am looking for some new blends to make next week...I will report back on what I find.

Have a great weekend! xo

Come and Get It!

Last night we went to a book signing and met Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman! She is SO nice, sounds just like she does on TV and is VERY tall. I love how the picture is tallest to smallest, ha! They only took one picture per group, but oh well it's the memory that counts. At least our eyes are open! The event was held at North Hills at Raleigh's Quail Ridge Books. It is the cutest book store! We love Food Network so you can only imagine how excited we were to meet her. We are sure you probably know who Ree is and have made some of her recipes but if you haven't we suggest you get cooking!;)Her food is amazing and her new cookbook, "Come and Get It" looks delicious. We can't to try some recipes and report back. Hope you have a great day! xo

Cranberry Sangria

Happy Hump Day! Today we are sharing the best sangria recipe. My sister found this recipe and made it for Thanksgiving. Needless to say it was absolutely delicious and a huge hit with everyone! It was super easy to make too. It's a fun festive cocktail to whip up this time of year. Hope you enjoy as much as we did...cheers! xo

What's Been Going On

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We sure did. Can you believe Christmas is less than a month away?!?  Today we featuring a lot of "randomness"! xo

Here are a few pictures of Thanksgiving. We had family in town this year and it was so nice spending time relaxing with everyone.

It was a beautiful day, we've had a gorgeous fall with all the colorful leaves

So many labs:)

A few things we have been loving lately....

Have you tried these? They are SO good and warning: addictive! I swear I almost ate an entire bag in one sitting. They are currently on sale at Harris Teeter too!

Ashley picked up this sweater from J Crew. Such a cozy piece and she loved the vintage look. Our mom said she had the exact same sweater in the 1970's. Everything old is new again.
You can snag it on sale at J Crew.

I got this bracelet for my birthday and have been obsessed with it. The line is Liza Schwartz. For you local followers you can get it at Uniquities. You can also order online and save 30% by using code BF30.  I love stacking this with my other bracelets. It comes in a lot of colors but I choose white. I think it's a fun piece you can dress up or down and I also love it is different (you don't see it everyday).

Sunday we helped our parents put two of their three Christmas trees up. This one is in their family room. I love the pops of bright red and the smell is amazing. It is even prettier in person! Hope everyone has a great day!

A New Line We Love

Hope everyone is having a great week! Sorry for the lack of posts-we have been busy getting ready for the holidays and celebrating my birthday. Today we wanted to share with you a new jewelry line we love, Deepa Gurnani. Her pieces are beautiful and add the perfect pop to your outfit. For you locals Uniquities carries her line. You can also get it on Shopbop. Ashley wore these earrings last night to dinner...aren't they amazing? They are a great statement piece and neutral enough to wear with pretty much anything. Here are some of our other favorite picks from her line. Have a great day! xo

Green Favorites

Happy Monday! This weekend we did a little shopping at Belk (one of our favorite local stores). I always look forward to my birthday month for the shopping coupons. Belk mailed me one and I treated myself to  two new treats. My mom got a make over and while they were doing her make up I got to test some of their products. Their holiday collection is so good this year! I picked up this dark green nail polish, Fiction. It is the perfect color to transition from fall into the holidays.  The color is a dark green and neutral enough to wear every day. I also came home with Jo Malone's English Oak and Redcurrant perfume. I tried this on a few weeks ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since. It is not sweet and has a very clean woodsy scent. It smells like fall in a bottle and is a great winter scent. xo

One Skillet Cashew Chicken Stirfry

I was in the mood for stir fry last night and made this recipe from Eat Yourself Skinny. It was absolutely delicious and did I mention ...easy. Sometimes after work I want to whip something up homemade/healthy but don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Problem solved with this recipe. This took 20 minutes to make. I also think it is relatively healthy and you can always sub the recommended veggies for your preferences. The peanut sauce was so flavorful and easy to whip up. Added bonus: you probably already have the ingredients on hand. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Thanksgiving Sides

We can't believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We always look forward to dinner with family and friends AND all the delicious food. My mom and Ashley are amazing cooks and work their magic in the kitchen to whip up some tasty dishes. Here are some of our family favorites. What are yours?! xo

We always have a veggie tray and some brie for an appetizer. My boyfriend brings over this recipe-so good!
We also have lots of tasty pies (our favorite part:).  If you are local check out Edible Art Bakery-they make mini pies that look SO good! We might be leaving the baking up to someone else this year!

Edible Art's mini pies (and they are celebrating 35 years in Raleigh!)

Barefoot Contessa's Mac and Cheese is SO good
We have it every year-highly recommend!
Corn Casserole is always a hit too and Paula Deen's is a great recipe!

My mom makes a recipe identical to this one. The fresh cranberries are delicious and give it a lot of flavor-so much better than the canned
Molded Cranberry Fruit Salad

We have had this salad for as long as we can remember. It's a family staple we have every year
Romaine and Orange Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing

And lastly we can't forget the cocktails! We have wine and usually make a cocktail and this one by Bobby Flay sounds perfect to try this year!
 Cheers!

Madewell Favorites

We hope everyone had a great weekend. Today we are featuring some of our favorite finds from Madewell. A few weeks ago Ashley and I went to the cutest Halloween party at our friend Lindsay's house. The weather was cool and it was perfect night to sit around her (beautiful) fire pit with friends and have some wine. Ashley wore the cutest sweater to the party and it is SO cozy too. Without further ado here our sweater weather Madewell picks. xo

Great cardigan you can wear with everything

New Favorite Fall Dish and Malbec

Happy Friday everyone! Today we are sharing a new recipe: Sausage Stuffed Acorn Squash. We made this earlier this week and it was SO good! Besides being super tasty it was also very easy to whip up AND it also fits the healthy eating bill. Yes please! We adapted the recipe from Liveglean. It originally called for Acorn Squash but I accidentally picked up Butternust Squash.  Even though I grabbed the wrong squash it still turned out perfectly! I also tried this new Malbec last night and it was also so good! I love Malbecs, but some of them can be really "earthy" tasting...not this one! It is from Mendoza and I highly recommend it. The cute llama label is what really sold me though:) We hope you enjoy this as much as we did! Have a great weekend! xo

Kicking off the Holidays!

It's no secret we love Christmas and the past day we have had fun kicking off the holiday season. In our book it can never be too early to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year! xo

Last night we took our mom to one of our favorite restaurants, Brewery Bhavana. We are obsessed with the décor, food and cocktails. Fun fact: they brew their own beer and have over 17 different varieties available on tap. We sat in the middle of the restaurant (my favorite spot) and had this amazing view of their cute flower and book shop. If you haven't been or are planning to visit Raleigh you need to go...hands down one of Raleigh's best spots.

Brewery Bhavana

After dinner we went to Junior League of Raleigh's Preview Gala for Shopping Spree. It is an annual tradition that always kicks off the season. Christmas shopping, trees, cocktails and holiday music all in one place. A Shopping Spree goes through Sunday night so if you haven't been be sure to stop by and check it out.

Guess what is back? Starbucks holiday cups! We are loving the cups this year...way to go Starbucks!  Also, XM launched their Christmas music yesterday too. It's the little things...

We are going to be working on our gift guides this week and will share our favorite finds soon, so stay tuned! Have a great day! xo

Current Beauty Favorites

Happy November! Today I am sharing some of my favorite beauty items. First up is Triple Sec 3-1 spray by DryBar.
I have really fine hair and this stuff makes it look a lot thicker. It gives you instant volume and texture without being heavy or sticky. I like to take pieces, twist them and spray this. Love this!
Dry Bar Triple Sec

My sister introduced me to this hair masque by Bumble and Bumble. This time of year my skin and hair gets really dry. This stuff is amazing! You sleep in the masque over night and wake up to soft, conditioned hair. I love Bumble and Bumble products and so glad I tried this!

I read about the Fresh line for forever and have only heard good things. I finally went out this weekend and got one. I choose the color Petal which is a your lip color but better shade. With the cold air and indoor heating my lips always get dry and this stuff really keeps them moisturized.  This would also be great to wear in the summer because they have SPF 25 in them. I have had it on the past few days and can really tell a difference in the condition of my lips.

FRESH Sugar Lip Treatment

Finally I am going to let you in a on a little beauty secret....castor oil. Yes, you read that correctly and I am obsessed.  I had a friend ask me if I was using anything on my eyelashes (no brands mentioned) and said no. It's cheap, natural and really works wonder. I like to put some on my eye lashes every night before bed. For those of you who haven't used castor oil before it does have a thicker consistency so a little goes a long way.  I got mine at Wholefoods but they sell it at most stores.
